luca helps you organize your social life digitally. You can use the luca App to find locations, pay there, access additional information such as menus, store vaccination and test certificates, and much more.
As a guest, luca helps you save time and stress. By paying your restaurant bill quickly and easily in the app, you no longer have to wait for the service staff and can experience your visit exactly as you planned it: with good food and in nice company. For the service staff, this means that they no longer have to coordinate time-consuming payment processes. As a result, they can offer you a more personal and stress-free service. By the way: You can also tip for this good service directly in the luca App. We're currently working on more services to make your restaurant experience even better.
None. For you as a user, luca remains free of charge. You only pay your restaurant bill and possible tip.
No. Your bank and payment data are not stored in our system, but only processed by Rapyd. Find out more about Rapyd here. Your user account protects your payment data, so only you have access to the data stored by Rapyd.

Search for "luca App" in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android). If you already have the app installed, you just need to click "update" here. If there is no update option, it seems that your luca App is already up-to-date.
You can download the luca app from the Apple App Store on devices with iOS (version 14 or higher), or from the Google Playstore on smartphones with an Android operating system (version 5 or higher). Here you can find the direct links to the apps.

luca Locations

luca Locations is the operator tool of luca. This platform maps several services, such as luca Pay. With luca Locations it is also possible to provide guests with menus, seating plans, WLAN and other information via QR code.
Yes. If you activate luca Discovery in luca Locations, your location will be displayed in the luca App in the tab "Discovery". This way you enable the app users to easily search and find your location.
It’s easy: Here you can easily and quickly register your location. You can also create multiple locations in your account.

The restaurant does not see your name or your data on your means of payment. The employees can see in luca Locations, their tool for operators, which table paid which amount and tip at which time. For better accountability, there is a payment code for each transaction (similar to an order number), which is also displayed in your app.
You can use your debit card, credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay for the payment. The amount will then be debited from your deposited account according to your usual modalities – as you may know from online shopping, for example.
To pay with luca, you only need to enter data about your means of payment. You enter this data at Rapyd, so that luca has no access to the data. You can find more information about Rapyd here. By the way: Prior to the launch of luca Pay, all user data that had been encrypted and stored in the luca system in connection with contact tracing during the pandemic was completely deleted. They may still be stored locally on the user's smartphone, to which luca has no access whatsoever.

Storing vaccination certificates and tests in the luca app

You can store vaccination certificates, proof of recovery and tests in the luca App. This way, you have all the information that may be necessary for a visit to a location quickly at hand and in one place: your luca App.
It's simple: You can insert your vaccination certificate or proof of recovery in the "My luca" section of the app. To do this, scan the corresponding QR code directly using the scanner. You will find the QR code on your vaccination certificate or proof of recovery, which the issuing authority has given you digitized or printed.
In the app, you will find the "My luca" area. There, you can insert your negative test result from the participating test centres by scanning your QR code. This QR code or a link you will find on your (usually digital) test result notification from the test centre. Use the scanner in the "My luca" area inside the app to upload your test result.
